Mission Statement

Trias provides consultancy services in international development, humanitarian response and post-crisis recovery to the public and private sectors and civil society. Trias has particular expertise in countries and regions experiencing or emerging from natural disasters or conflict, helping to create an environment for inclusive growth, sustainable peace and development.

Trias works across the development, security, diplomatic, environmental and private sector communities. We deliver comprehensive and integrated policy and strategy options, and provide fully supported programming, monitoring and evaluation services.

Institutional expertise

Our directors and partners have all held long-term senior positions in bilateral and multilateral organisations. This gives us a particular insight into operating environments and institutional mandates, allowing us to provide services tailored to specific needs.

Political and cultural sensitivity

We have all lived and worked in challenging political environments and addressed technically complex issues. We build on that knowledge to deliver services to our clients that are grounded in the realities of such contexts. We are multilingual and at ease in multicultural environments.

Technical expertise

Our directors and partners have a minimum of twenty years experience in their fields, with proven track records. Our associates all have more than ten years experience. Trias believes this depth of experience is essential in devising practical and appropriate solutions for clients working in demanding environments.

Identity

Trias, meaning three in Latin, aptly reflects the complexities of the world in which we work. There is no single solution to challenges in multifaceted settings. Our experience rather tells us that development requires peace and stability, that peace requires addressing the root causes of crisis, that economic growth requires an enabling environment in which the private sector can operate with an acceptable degree of risk, that the impact of natural disasters reflects the vulnerability and lack of preparedness of communities and institutions, that there is a clear and visible correlation between crisis, environmental degradation and climate change, and that local involvement and ownership is essential for sustainability.
